Saint Gregory the Great encourages social, faith-support and friendship communities with common needs and personal preferences to meet and bond and share experiences.

Mission and Purpose

The St. Gregory the Great Book Club identifies ‘Great Reads’ and meets to share and clarify their perspectives and understandings, discuss salient issues, even debate points and philosophies of books recently read. Friendship and fellowship development are wonderful by-products of this social group. The group supports each other through the joys and pains of their lives in a sisterhood of those who love the written word.

When: First Monday of the Month except July & September when meeting is second Monday due to holiday.
Time: 7:00 p.m

Bible Study

To foster a spirit of fellowship, to increase the scriptural knowledge, and foster the Word of God within the Catholic community of St. Gregory the Great.

Mission and Purpose

  • Ministry members range in Biblical knowledge from novice to experienced. Group members work together to extract meaning from the scripture. In addition, tapes and DVD sets accompany both Little Rock Bible Study and the Great Adventure Bible Study series in use, to help explain difficult points.
  • Groups meet in the homes of parishioners; meeting times are by group preference, with most taking place on weekday evenings at 7:00 p.m., and some morning and weekend times are available.

Cooking Group

Creating a community, stewards by sharing our culinary gifts with each other and through an outreach of hospitality to our parish community.

Mission and Purpose

  • Sharing the gifts of cooking and food, the Cooking Group comes together for both social and service gatherings. It is fellowship in cooking and food, with recipe exchanges, cooking and cooking demonstrations, field trips, dining together, and reaching out to other Ministries in providing refreshments for ministry and church events.
  • Meeting times, locations and events vary. Social events such as providing refreshments for New Parishioner Receptions are held on the second Sunday of each month. Other events vary.
  • This is a wonderful opportunity to meet with parishioners who share an interest in the culinary arts and to develop lasting friendships.

Film Fans

Film Fans is a social group who gathers to share views on recent Hollywood releases in a casual setting.

Mission and Purpose

  • Film Fans is a social group of parishioners who come together to discuss recent film releases. At their personal convenience, members view a movie selected by the group and later come together to discuss the movie in the social setting of one another's homes. Community is built and strengthened by developing friendships and the sharing of insights, attitudes and Christian values.
  • Film Fan groups meet approximately every six weeks at the discretion of the group. The meetings are usually on a weekend evening at the homes of Film Fan members on a rotating basis.
  • This group has a genuine enthusiasm for viewing films; an openness to share and listen to the thoughts of group members as together they try to understand various views of our world and the lives of others as depicted through films.

Mission and Purpose

  • The mission and purpose of the “Lets Dine In” group is to create a opportunity for parishioners to get to know one another in a home setting. Each group consists of six to eight people, singles and couples. Each group meets together about once a month at one another's homes each bringing their assigned part of the meal to share. After a four-month cycle the groups are shuffled, adding in any new members.
  • It was in the breaking of the bread that the Disciples from Emmaus recognized Jesus. In gathering around the table and spending time together we begin to see Christ in each other.

Mission and Purpose

To provide social, service and informational support to parish military and families. Activities and needs are evolving. Considerations are welcoming new military members to St. Gregory the Great, support families of deployed parishioners, information networking, service projects such as letters to military and care packages, fellowship development (social potlucks).

  • The 50+ Club offers a social network that supports living a personal Catholic Christian faith for single, married, divorced and windowed adults ages 50 and over. Through fellowship and fun, education and service to our parish and beyond, we strive to foster a deepening vulnerability to Christ's love for one another and our community.
  • Among the activities we have enjoyed and plan to do: Daytrips, game nights, theater trips, walking events and retreats on and off campus.
