Blood Drive
Saint Gregory the Great parish participates in a biannual blood drive. The first is in the spring, usually in June and one in the fall, usually in November.

These blood drives help meet the increasing demands for blood and help save many lives. Our blood drives help save between 160 to 200 lives each year.

Basic Requirements to donate:
Be in generally good health and feeling well
Be 17 years of age—there is no upper limit
Weigh at least 110 pounds
There may be additional requirements
Each donor is given a thorough screening for their personal safety and the integrity of the blood supply. An announcement after the Sunday masses a few weeks before the blood drive will be made. At that time you can schedule an appointment at your conveyance. The Bloodmobile will be in our parish parking lot on the scheduled Sunday morning.

Child Care
Sunday Child Care is a ministry, run as a co-op, that provides child care for children 1- 4 years of age. Experience and service hours for youth preparing for Confirmation or school projects are available. Care is lovingly provided by adults and teenage volunteers in the Parish Youth Center.

Child Care is provided during the 9 and 11 am masses each Sunday except Easter Sunday and Christmas (should it fall on a Sunday). The Youth Center is located on the south - east end of the Ministry Center.

All you need is patience, enthusiasm and a love for God’s little ones.

On average, 15 - 20 families utilize the child care on a weekly basis. Depending on the number of families involved parents will be committed to one Sunday mass every 7 – 8 weeks.

Donuts and Coffee Ministry
Said by some to be the eighth sacrament, donuts, coffee and apple juice are served in the gathering plaza after all Sunday morning Masses.

Church is more than just going to mass just as being a family is more than just getting together for the holidays. Being church is spending time together share life, sharing faith. It may seem like a small thing, serving donuts and coffee, but lives are built on relationship and relationship is built on time spent together.

On the job training is provided. All you need to provide is a smile and a little muscle,

Volunteers work one Sunday Mass per month, either the 7:30, 9, or 11 am Mass. A minimum of six months commitment is asked. There are substitutes available.

Film Fans
Film Fans, is a social group made up of parishioners who come together to discuss recent film releases. Each person views a chosen move at their own convenience then comes together with the group to discus the move. Many issues and topics can arise as members share their comments and thoughts.

An important part of parish life is time spent together at work and play.

Community is built, in part by sharing our thoughts, attitudes, and values. Time together sharing our faith is time well spent.

Moves are a source of entertainment for many people. It is important that our values and daily faith are in union with the ways we are entertained. Developing friendships with people who have similar values make us stronger in our faith. Films help us understand the view of the world many people face.

Food Drive
First weekend of each month is reserved for the collection of donations for the emergency food pantry of our sister parish, Our Lady of Angels.

Knights of Columbus
The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal organization of Catholic men, represented in all 50 states, Canada, and the Philippines. The Order was founded in 1882 as a way of providing economic and spiritual security for Catholic men, their families, and their survivors. Since then the Order has evolved into much more, the basic principles being charity, unity and fraternity. Through the sacrifice of time and energy, Knights work together to raise funds that provide much needed services to those in need, and to our community as a whole.

Marriage Encounter
Worldwide Marriage Encounter offers a weekend experience designed to give married couples the opportunity to learn a technique of loving communication that they can use for the rest of their lives. It’s a chance to look deeply into their relationship with each other and God. It’s a time to share their feelings, hopes and dreams with each other. It’s also a time to listen to each other.

The emphasis of the Marriage Encounter weekend is on the communication between husbands and wives. The weekend provides a conducive environment for couples to spend time together, away from the distractions and tensions of everyday life, while encouraging them to focus on each other and their relationship.

Marriage Encounter weekends are held several times a year at local Hotels and/or Retreat Houses, Friday night through Sunday afternoon. Their are optional post-weekend Community Gatherings twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month in the local area.
