Ministry of Mothers The Ministry of Mothers was founded in 1995 by mothers of St. Gregory the Great Parish. Our goal is to provide emotional and spiritual support to mothers; social activities for mothers and their families; and service to mothers in the community. The Mothers group meets the first Thursday of every month from September until June from 9:30 to 11:30 am in the Parish Hall. Babysitting is available during the meeting for children over age one or walking for a small donation which includes snacks and a craft. Babies under the age of one are welcome to join us in our meeting. Our meetings usually feature an inspirational speaker and time to chat with old and new friends. Past topics include Catholicism 101, prayer, Christmas crafts, Mary in the Scriptures, gardening, home organization and parenting tips. We also have a monthly Mom's Night Out, which is convenient for mothers who work during the day. Previous activities include plays, dinners, movies and line dancing. Several couple and family events are also offered throughout the year. A baby-sitting co-op (playgroup) is also available to members of the Mothers group. The Ministry of Mothers has a very active outreach program both in and out of the Parish. We provide meals to members with new babies and families in times of need. We also help coordinate activities for Advent and Pentecost, assist with food and clothing drives and relief services, and help with the Whispering Winds Family Camp weekend. The Ministry of Mothers also participates in the outreach program to our sister parish, Our Lady of Angels, by sponsoring a school supply drive and by providing diapers, baby food and children's clothing to young mothers and families. The Ministry of Mothers welcomes mothers and grandmothers of all ages! Please come visit us and meet new friends and be fulfilled and renewed not only as mothers but as women with great gifts.
