Christian FormationBaptism (Infant) Preparation for ParentsHelp instruct parents wishing to have their children Baptized in the Church. Mission and PurposeAfter his resurrection he told his disciples: “Go, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.” Mt. 28:19. On going Adult Faith Formation is very important in the life of the Church. As parents we are accepting the responsibility to bring our children up in the faith. But, we cannot teach what we do not understand. The Infant Baptismal Teams are parishioners who have taken the next step in their own faith formation in order to pass on our treasure of faith. To help as a team member you need to attend training given by the Diocese. Baptismal classes are offered twice a month here in the parish or in homes for new parents. Contact: Confirmation for TeensImportant information regarding preparation for and the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation for high school age teens. Mission and PurposeThe first step in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is to join other teenagers in the Youth Ministry program. Confirmation preparation is a two-year commitment, which generally culminates in the 10th grade. However, anyone of high school age is welcome to join us. Club nights are part of the regular youth ministry program, meeting on Monday nights from 6:45-8:30pm. The 5:00pm Sunday youth-led mass is also a vital part of the program. Confirmation formation classes are scheduled on Sunday evenings after the Youth Led Mass. First Year candidates are divided into two groups: A & B and have their choice of meeting each month on the third Sunday, Group A, or the fourth Sunday of the month, Group B. Second year candidates are also divided A & B. Group A meets the first Sunday and Group B meets on the second Sunday of the month. This process guides teenagers through the process of invitation, formation, and reflection leading to the sacrament of Confirmation, and is followed by a period of mission in which they continue to live out the gifts they received through the sacrament.
