Altar Servers
Altar Servers Our purpose is to assist the celebrant during Sunday mass and special liturgies. Altar servers also work with the liturgy coordinator for each mass to help set up for mass and assist after mass with the clearing of the items used during the liturgy.

You need an interest in assisting at Mass, availability to assist once every four or five weeks. Willingness to dress and participate in a reverent fashion. Some knowledge of the Order of the Mass is very helpful.

Training is provided as needed for new servers, and special liturgical seasons may have short training sessions.

Bible Study
At Saint Gregory the Great bible study is organized to foster small group community, friendships, and spiritual growth through exploration of the Scripture. Bible study groups meet in the homes of small group members on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Sunday nights and on Wednesday mornings. Group sessions typically begin in September and in February and last from 10 weeks to 13 weeks for a session. Meetings are about 1 1/2 hours long.

Our course of study--the Great Adventure--is designed with Catholics in mind. It puts the scriptures in context historically, biblically, and geographically, giving an overview that is valuable for the novice and experienced bible scholar. It integrates the Catechism into the study of scripture, so that we can see where we fit as Catholics. And it asks probing questions about what God intends these stories to mean for our lives, and how we can live out His message. Find out more at www.thegreatadventureonline.com

Eucharistic Ministry
We are dedicated to serving Christ through bringing “food for the journey” to our community at Mass and to the sick and homebound. In turn, we are blessed through the revelation of Christ’s presence in each person with whom we share the Eucharist.

There is a one-day diocesan training for new Eucharistic Ministers, which is offered twice a year. There is also an in parish training to familiarize new EM's with liturgical procedures in our parish.

A Eucharistic Minister must be a confirmed Catholic at least fifteen years old and willing to be immersed in the life of the parish.

Liturgical Committee
Our core purpose is to fulfill the mission of the parish by helping the community to celebrate Christ ever-present among us, in the Sunday Eucharist and in all forms of liturgy and prayer.

We hope to foster continuing spiritual growth and a deeper understanding of our faith and traditions through the way we plan liturgies.

It is helpful to have an understanding of liturgy and a willingness to learn how to create a prayerful environment.

Meetings are:
When: First Tuesday of each month
Time: 7:00 pm
Where: Ministry Center /Trinity Room

Liturgical Environment
God created us to experience him with all of our senses. The environment of our worship space should reflect the prayerfulness and sacredness of being in union with God. Each liturgical season is meant to help us encounter Christ along life's ever changing journey. The environment in which we encounter Christ can help us become more aware of His presence. Color s, shapes, sounds, smells, live plants or dried branches set the tone and help us enter into that inner place where we meet God.

You need a willingness to work with others and not afraid of getting your hands dirty.

Meetings are as needed during various time as liturgical seasons dictate.

Rosary Makers

Our mission is to make rosaries to send all over the world, to needy parishes who's pastors requests the mission rosaries. Our group is financially self sufficient. We raise funds at our semi-annual gift rosary sale. We are a group of about 25 members who craft both the mission rosaries and gift rosaries for sale. The proceeds from the semi annual sale are used to purchase raw materials to make both types of rosaries.

Any one who likes to work with their hands and has an interest in participating our mission's work is welcome to join us. Even if an individual does not wish to craft the rosaries, they can still be part of our group since we have a lot of administrative work and need volunteers for our sale.

Ushers

Ushering at Mass is a way of making Christ present in the Liturgy. Ushers help build up the church and create a spirit of welcome and a sense of belonging. It begins with a deep commitment to Christ and to his Church. Strangers are to be put at ease, visitors are to be welcomed, people with special needs or disabilities need to experience the care of the community.

Warmth, friendliness and openness to hospitality are essential to this ministry. Always making your first word a word of welcome is important.

Training is provided. Each Mass has a variety of responsibilities that may be different from other Masses.

Ushers are to remember that they too are celebrating the Liturgy and despite their duties, must make every effort to participate fully in the responses, in listening to the Word and singing of the Mass.
